This is a serious question, I'm not trying to belittle anyones beliefs but why do people always say this:
"God will never give you more than you can handle"
What about that is true? People die from accidents and sickness every day. People commit suicide because they can't handle the cards they've been dealt. I can understand in hard times trying to convince yourself that you will get through, but I usually say "this too shall pass". Whether it passes in a good way or bad way, it shall pass.
I don't know, maybe I'm being picky, just wondering if anyone uses this phrase or any other inspiration to get through the dark days.
"I was bitten must have been the devil"

Can somebody explain this to me

I guess it goes along with 'everything happens for a reason.' If one is to insist that 'God' is the master of the universe and nothing happens without 'his' knowledge (and at least tacit approval since 'he' is supposedly omnipotent and could 'protect' us, and is supremely 'good') then one must believe stuff like that. Or at least try to.
ReplyDeleteYea thats a tough one. I just saw a poster today a photo f starving kids in Africa with that "God will never give you more than you can handle" crap as the footer. If there was a god with any power or empathy he would not send kids by the millions like flies and bugs to die in mass in filth and starvation.
