Pledge to the Flag

This is the original pledge, the "under God" was added in 1954, not by our founding fathers. Just thought I'd throw it out there...

  1. RM,
"In God We Trust" has appeared off and on on US coinage since 1864 and was added to the crrency in 1957. That doesn't bother me. I don't have a problem with a prayer before a NASCAR game or even a high school football match.
Nativity scenes and the Ten Commandments displayed on public property crosses the line. As does the move against Planned Parenthood.

Nuther subject: Should INDY have went for Luck vs Griffith III? I see Griffith as having no interest in coming to Indianapolis. Will Luck be another Peyton Manning? Or even better? We shall see - now, how the Colts use the other draft picks is a source of major concern.

Back to God - I don't have a problem with God; it is his fan club that I fucking hate...

  2. Yes, the US wanted to distinguish between God-loving Americans and those atheists - the Communists.
