You know what isn't fair? Why do I have to be checked for weapons when going on an airplane? Why treat everyone like a potential criminal? It's ridiculous and an infringement on my rights.
Why can't I bring a knife on an airplane? I might need it for protection. How about a concert? Ball game?
The next time a gun owner complains that they shouldn't be treated like a potential threat, ask if they mind it when keeping an airplane safe. Should we not check anyone for weapons ever? Or is the stance of the NRA that we should be armed at all times?
Let's just never background check anyone, ever. Let's just let people run around armed wherever they want, what's the worst that can happen?

You are trying to apply logic to an illogical group of people. And assholes on top of that.
ReplyDeleteI won't even get into people who supported the Patriot Act and invasion of privacy but can't wrap their head around banning assault weapons or extensive background checks.
DeleteWe need to strike a balance between common sense measures and admitting that we can't check for everything. We probably have it about right. But 'yes' to background checks. ; )
